This sweet pea joined our family in November.
We love having her with us, but it has put a bit of a crimp on my sewing time. I'm still adjusting to life as a mama first, a quilter (and everything else) second. Thank you to the lovely ladies who were so patient on their blocks while I trained my new sewing assistant.
Can't wait to see Jessica's quilt for her son all finished! What a great departure from our red and whites. Here's my contribution to the cause.
Sewing snowballs was a perfect winter activity! They're on their way Helen!
And finally....it looks like I'm the only one who is taking seriously Shelly's generously extended timeline on your appliqué block. It's up next!
Happy quilting in the new year all!
Congratulations on the new little one Andrea!! What is your sewing assistant's name? So cute.
ReplyDeleteShe is just adorable! It looks like she is adjusting to your sewing habits nicely. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteYa babies take alot of time but they are so cute. I have a 16 year old, 13 year old and 7 year old and some way we are crazy but my wife is now prego with our 4th a girl which will arive in march. Just think of the kids as another reason to make yet another quilt.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Andrea. She's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour new assistant looks so huggable!
ReplyDeletethe transition from quilter to mother first wasn't a smooth one for me and about 5 months into motherhood I made my "post-partum anti-depression" quilt. reminding myself to find balance and not forget who I was before the family shift. it helped. now i just make george sew with me all the time.. looks like you've got that part down already. She's adorable, can't wait to meet her~
ReplyDelete(oh, and thanks for the block, btw!)
Oh, she is so adorable! How fun! I love your blocks and know how you feel falling behind! You already look like a great and well adjusted mommy!
ReplyDeleteThis has been such a blessing for you two. An amazing little package that is so beautiful. Although this is indeed a big transition, you seem to be doing quite well. Bonnie PS How many pictures have you really taken....
ReplyDeleteThat is the happiest, most blissful look I've ever seen on a baby's face!! Obviously, you are a fabulous mom! Congratulations!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see that you are starting her off right! Get her quilting early, I say! I am not the slightest bit worried about my block from you. I know I'll get it in time. Plus, I knew you were super busy with your new helper and all. She's growing so fast already!
